Use of the Philips mark
Over the past few years, Philips has evolved from a company built around its core technologies to a company built around its core brand. This transformation is expressed in our ‘sense and simplicity’ brand promise.

Our corporate identity is built around the ‘Philips’ mark. This is one of the most valuable assets of our company. It – plus all our other marks – are registered in the name of Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V.

Consistency
The consistent use of both our wordmark ‘Philips’ and our shield emblem are an essential part of our distinctive identity.

Consequently, the Philips wordmark and shield, plus our sense and simplicity tagline, are registered in most countries worldwide for all categories of our products and services.

Proper and consistent use of our trademarks is of the utmost importance to maintain our strong brand which stands for quality. Thus the use of our trademarks is exclusively reserved to Philips.

Third-party use
Where we allow third-parties to use the wordmark ‘Philips’, the following usage guidelines must be followed:

Ensure that the wordmark ‘Philips’ is always positioned on its own, apart from other text and graphics.

  • When referring to our company and our products, use the ‘Philips’ name (or any other Philips trademarks and trade names) in site text only.
  • Do not use a name which contains any variation of the Philips name or any phonetic equivalent, such as ‘Phil-’, ‘Fil-’ or ‘-lips’.
  • Do not use the Philips name as part of a company name in which a third-party has a majority interest.

Use of Philips brand promise and shield emblem
Use of both our brand promise ‘sense and simplicity’ and our shield emblem is exclusively reserved to Philips.

Our product names are registered trademarks of our company. Our trademark usage guidelines apply to them as well.
