Philips wants to create clarity for companies that manufacture Blu-ray Disc products and has therefore decided to introduce licenses for the use of Philips’ patents relevant for Blu-ray Disc. This in anticipation of the future launch of a joint Blu-ray Disc license program, in which the patents of a number of companies are combined in one single license agreement.
